Recently purchased 2002 Jetta Automatic. Can't find the dipstick for transmission.

there in no dipstick on these trans.
the fluid level is checked thru a scan tool at a fixed temp reading and a weap hole in the trans.
VW considers this a life time fill trans.

Do you have a shifting concern?

Thanks alot. I was beginning to doubt myself. It seems to shift a little hard. Since I've never owned a Volkswagen before I'm not sure how it should feel, but compared to the Grand Am I owned previously it feels like it's low on fluid or the fluid got hot and is thin.

it may be low it does happen. do you see any leaks under the car.
you may wont it checked to be sure.

well Im no expert either .. I have a Bora 2001 automatic.. the same happened to me. Please have it checked out. before its too late.
For me Now i have to change the entire transmission coz i took it easy.

Leaks are too minute to notice. Take it to a GOOD Mechanic
