Where does Temperature Sensor located? |
|
I have a MY01 1.8T Jetta, my temperature guage only works once a while, but it'll never pass the middle line. So I don't know whether my guage or my temperature sensor is malfunctioning. So I'm trying to replace my temperature sensor first and see what happen afterwards. Anyone know where does the temperature sensor is located in the car? pics will be awesome. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

looking at engine drivers side you will see top engine cover there is one small cover that wraps to the back on drivers side as you look betweem air box and engine you will see coolant hoses from front of car to cylinder head. there is a black plastic water pipe that has 2 or 3 out lets may have 4 if Auto trans.
there is a black or green sensor on the top of that plastic water pipe it has a 4 wire conector this is your ECT sensor.
good hunting.
