We have a 97 Jetta TDI with about 175,000 miles. It had become hard starting with the colder weather arriving, and my local garage determined that a glow plug control unit located above the master cylinder was fried. They replaced this, but it is still tough to start, and gives the error codes 65535 and 01050. The dealer is a 45 minute drive away, so I was hoping someone in the forum might be able to help before I headed off in that direction.

Hello, Looks like an air bag problem, and a glow plug problem. Try looking at this
