Starting Question |
|
Hello,
While starting my 2001 TDI yesterday my foot slipped off the clutch and the clutch snapped up stopping the engine immediately. Now when I try to start the car the engine doesn't even turn. There is plenty of battery power and no clicking noises from the starter. The dashboard, radio, interior lights all work fine. Is there some type of sensor I damaged when the clutch snapped up? I know the car won't attempt to start if trying to start without the clutch pressed in and that's what seems to be going on. The clutch works because I had to have someone push me to a different parking spot.
Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance.

Hello, You are about to become a contortionist. Get a good trouble , or flash light. Set your e brake. Tranny in 2nd or 4th , seat all the way back, Then use your hand on the clutch pedal. Look at the top of the lever and you will see a single probably black switch. They can be damaged, and also fail for other reasons. Carefully remove the wire, go to your dealer, buy a new one, and replace it. If that does not work , my e mail is daemdaem@yahoo.com Allan
