seat belt help! |
|
ok so i got pulled over for speeding my bad (this time i wasn't trying to speed, o well)
the officer was a real nice guy but i still got the ticket.
anyway he also gave me a fix it ticket, my car has no lap belts for the front two seats, i drive a 1987 vw jetta 4 door sedan. there never has been lap belts in the front seats as long as i have owned the car and by the looks of it there never were. but by the glory of he California justice system the burden is mine to prove to the courts that the car never came with them.
does anyone know the history of this make? i know newer jettas have them, i just assumed that the law at the time didnt call for them.
any help would be appreciated

if it didnt come standard on the car, here in ireland anyway, you dont need to have them.
couple of years back a gaurd tried to do a mate of mine for not having proper seatbets in the back of a cabrio, there was only lapbelts as there was no where to hang the proper seatbelts out of. judge threw it out because of that reason.
