Resetting New Beetle Automatic Transmission |
|
I have a 1998 New Beetle with Auto trans.
For some reason the shift points have gotten too high...by this I mean the RPMs have to be really high before it shifts to 2nd then 3rd etc...so the mileage has gotten pretty poor.
Is there a way to reset the transmission controls and re-train the thing?? I can't find any info in the owners manual!@#.
Thanks for your help.

Was the Trans just replaced?
You can have KOEO press Accelerator pedal to floor hold for 15 seconds.
if this does not help throttle angle reset must be done with a scaner.
and trans must TCM must be reset.
this must be done with scanner Sorry.
Good luck
keep us updated.
