Radio wont turn on:2000 Golf |
|
Hi,
Reporting in from Sydney, Australia in where my Golf has just returned from the smash repairers. I tried to turn on the radio, but alas, it did not even show the slightest form of activity. So naturally i rang Volkswagen, in where they informed me that the Golf's radio was in security mode and to input the digits "1155", and that should make the radio work.....but...it didn't. So now i am out of ideas and am seeking help from you lovely people!
Any ideas?
Kind Regards,
Steviedee

what work was done in the crash repairs??
did you check the fuse?
do you have the tool to take the radio out and check that the power wire is plugged in in the back??

check the fuse. you will need the manual should have come with the car. there is a section in it about the fuse box. find the fuse that goes to to the radio. take it out and if the wire is broken between the 2 spades you need to change it. make sure you put back in one of the same amp. written on the top of the fuse. otherwise you will blow some thing more important!!
if the fuse is alright then i'd get the radio taken out and check the wires are plugged in behind it. the tool is either available at a motor factor or get your local mechanic to do it.
