R Reg polo spluttering a lot at start up. Please help! |
|
Hi, new to the forum and would appreciate any help. Recently bought a R reg Polo 1.4, it was working fine until recently when it has started causing me grief in the moring by not starting. Its been taking 3 - 4 long turn overs for the car to start. I'm making sure I'm not flooding the engine, and the car has had a recent oil, and air filter change + new sparks.
The only other problem with it is that I need a new exhaust apparently, as the flexible connector at the bottom of the engine appears a bit worn. Could this be linked in any way? When the car starts I have to leave it to tick over for a minute or two, without puttin foot on accelerator, else it makes a coughing, spluttering noise as if the air/fuel mix is wrong.
Any help will be greatfully appreciated.
Many thanks.
