 Questions on jettas??? |

Hey everyone,
Just joined,looks like a ton of info here. I have some easy questions pertaining to jettas.
Currently looking to buy a 2000 and up gas car, there just seems to a few different motors available.
Does anyone perfer one over the other and why? I am not planning on performance, just daily
driven.(ie work, store, the normal) What should I be looking for/staying away from in a jetta
other than the typical questions of a used car? Is there things that you guys and gals can tell
me about that I might not already know? Thanks ahead of time.

engine wise i would buy a tdi as you get way more mpg than from a petrol. also buy stick, not a fan of this auto thing!! you have way more control over the car with a stick.

my favorite so far has been the vr6...i currently have the 1.8t which isnt bad...the gas mileage isnt bad since its only a 4 banger. i just the vr6 for the pickup and the speed!!!

Hey roxsgirl, what kind of miliage are you seeing with the 1.8t? Is the vr6 quit a bit more peppy than the others?

the vr6 is a heavier car so even though it has more power than the 1.8t its the same power to weight ratio.

honestly i feel i get the same mileage as i did with the vr6...i dunno if its just me but my turbo likes to kick in whenever it feels like it...which eats my gas. if i am able to keep it driving without kicking in...i get about 50 miles to each 1/8th line (i dont even figure it out by mpg) my old vr6 tank reading never read correctly so i would have to run by how many miles i could get to a tank. at the most i can get about 350 miles to a tank...but normally it only gets 290. make sense!?
