OBDII Scan says replace Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor |
|
My CEL recently came on. I took my Jetta to Autozone and they ran an OBDII scan, revealing a problem with the engine coolant temperature sensor. So I purchased a new sensor and was going to have my brother install it. But the next day, the CEL wasn't on anymore.
Do I still need to replace the sensor? Or was the connection just loose and triggered the CEL? Someone told me the gas cap may not have been on tight enough. But that doesn't explain the results of the OBD scan.
Anyone had this problem?
