Hi,

First post on here so go easy....

Ive just bought a 1.3CL Polo to get me to work and back, not really one for going many places by car. The car has done 120k, has had a new cambelt and has been regularly serviced by VW.

Im not sure if this is a problem but when I start the car it sounds like a tank, like when there is a hole in the exhaust.... really chugging. After 3 minutes or so when the car has warmed up the car is perfect, quietly ticking over.

Am I going to be having problems anytime soon or am I worrying about nothing?

I have the self-same problem, though it only started a couple of weeks ago. 1.3CL Polo bought new in 1995 in UK for my daughter, when she went to uni, now handed back to Dad as beat-up old run around (car that is). 70k only on the clock. Noise disappears after a minute or two running, and car otherwise goes very well. Any clues? Cool
