new to vw with a few issues

Hello all I'm new to the VW scene, I have recently become the proud owner of a 1999 Golf GL, I don't know who to ask or where to get info about it but my alarm is really sensitive and annoying and i want to disable it or remove it(its my first stick and when i stall it out i have to lock and unlock the doors to restart the car), i was wondering if anyone could tell me how, also if someone could tell me how to fix the hood latch since i somehow broke the plastic handle thing that you pull on off, go figure, thank you all for your help in advance
