Im thinking of getting a 1992 jetta gl in decent shape for 800 bucks, i am willing to spend up to like 4000 the first thing i would want to do is take out the motor , but i dont know what ones would bolt right in or be the right one. Also if there is any place on the internet to get engines that would be nice to know. Well hopefully people can help me with this and i will be back on here with many more questions thanks for your time

great find nice low price. as for motors where do you live and what one is in the car?
also what do you wont for performance?

4000.00 could get you a nice engine with some mods.

if you wont big power double that .

i live in wisconsin and its the 1.8 sohc thats in there its got 160 thousand miles im just looking for a car that is gonna last me a while beucase im taking a loan out and im gonna store it in the winter so im looking for ones on craigslist but if anybody knows of anything that would be great

you could try gex.com they have brand new motors but they are kind of pricey
