No one gonna jump on this one?
Well, the unit was installed today and not only does it look great, it gives a very nice low, aggresive rumble which is (at least in my opinion) not too much. Just the right note.
There were however, some complications on the installation though. I had it installed by my VW dealership, and keep in mind this is an original VW part order through VW's part catalouge and according to the VW parts manual, is for all 4 cylinder Golf MkIVs. When the mechanic had it on the first time, everything fit where it was supposed to, however, the dual pipes were sticking about 7 inches past the bumper so they had to cut off the 7 inches of the pipes, re-weld the remaining pipes back on and now it fits perfectly.
So, if anyone is interested in installing this system in their car, just keep this in mind and let your dealership/mechanic know that it will have to be customized.

I haven't had any more luck id'ing the manufacturer myself. It would be quite nice to know for future reference. Also, quite funny how an actual VW ordered part for a specific VW model doesn't even fit in the damn car ..... 
Oh well, such is life
