My golf seems to be burning lot of oil |

Anyone help
I have a 2001 golf mark 4 . 2.0 litre . 115 bhp . Petrol engine. 56,000 miles on the clock .. I have changed the oil two months ago fully synthetic 5w - 40 motor oil .. In those two months i have been using it at fairly high speeds everywhere I go. It seems to be burning lots of oil . I cannot find any oil leaks at all . It has no turbo .and the dip stick has gone down under half in those two months before i noticed it. It just my last golf mark 3 tdi didn't burn 10% as much as this baby. I have only had the car for 9 months .. is this normal .is she just a hungry for it , should I just carry on my merry way ?? any help would be cool.

My 01 Golf since new has burned atleast a quart of oil every 3k miles. It now has 143K miles & nothing has changed. Still runs mint too. Those Golfs (had 3) are known for using oil but its not a big deal. Just keep an eye on it.

Oil burning is usually connected to engine wear. Valve seals and piston rings wear out and allow oil to pass into the cylinder during combustion. Have a check up and ask the mechanic for any suggestion on what should be made.
