Might buy a beetle 74or75 fuel injection questions B4 buyin |
|
Hello in my section where I live theirs a green beetle its a 74 or 75 its fuel injected. I was talking to the owner who owns it she says her father owned the car. He parked the car 10 years ago because it was having some kind of problem but it ran sometimes rough or it would run the stall. Her father died recently and she doesn't really know a lot about it and has no idea of the problem. She has the title and believe she said she had the keys to it. Its a dark green low miles the car sat under a carport so it has some surface rust just a small spot and its missing the back seat. it has the everything else even has original radio the inside looks new. So I was talking to her and she said $200.00 takes it it has 4 flat tires with the circle hubcaps that are all chrome. I'm thinking about getting a manual on fuel injection beetles but can't find any. Once again the car ran OK 10 years ago when backed sometimes it ran fine and sometimes rough or it would even stall she said. Also if I do buy it what should be changed right when I get it before I start it. I'm Hoping someone can help me. Message me please with any info you have Thanks!

WOW grab it quick. Parts and knowlege are available. Will need new gas , and new fuel filter. I would have a hard look at the brakes.and assosiated parts. The bleeders are probably seized, and do not be surprised if a line is corroded through, or a flex hose cracked. The brake fluid needs replacement. New battery and posts. The troubles sure sound like bad points if it is not electronic ignition. I used to carry spare points and condenser just for that problem.Al
