looking for a mechanic in so. cal . . . or other forum |
|
Greetings all;
I drive a Winnebago Rialta - not your usual VW I know, but it has the VR6 engine and was built on a Eurovan chasis. I am in need of a good local mechanic and am looking for forums/websites that will help me out. I am having trouble w/ my tranny (sp?)during hot weather and mountain grades (will shift itself into 1st and won't shift out of 1st until it cools down a bit), possible A/C problems (deep rattling noise under engine torque - e.g. accelerating) and I need brake work. I will also need a shop that can handle the size/weight of the Rialta (basically an oversized Eurovan motorhome). The RV shops won't touch the VW engine and it's tough finding a non-dealer VW mechanic that can handle the size/weight of the vehicle. Would appreciate any assistance. I live in/near San Bernardino CA
(moderators - if this is more appropriate on another forum - please post it there - thanks)
