Interior Light Fade Lost after Battery Change |
|
Today I installed a new battery in my 1999 Passat Wagon (1.8 turbo, auto), I even went for the $108.00 actual Volkswagen battery. The install went fine, no problems, but now the interior lights seem to have forgotten they are supposed to stay on for several moments after the door is closed. Now, after the new battery, they go off immediately--no fade out. What gives? I know, it's not a major problem, but it just ticks me that something unforeseen like this would occur after a simple act like changing a battery. The other kinda strange thing was that after removing the old battery, and having no power for five minutes, the radio was okay after I got the new battery installed. I did not have to program-in the secret code to get it to play. It stared up like normal. Installing a new battery seems like such an easy innocuous task, how could I have screwed it up? I checked the owner's manual, but of course, nothing there. Any ideas? Maybe it's little brain needs to be reprogrammed?
