I Think I've Been Had!

Just bought what I thought was a 2008 Passat 3 weeks ago. I discovered that Volkswagen doesn't make Granite Green anymore. They made this color last year. My Passat is Granite Green but they sold this car to me as a 2008 and a 2008 price. This is fraud, right? If this is sold I would like to return the car and get my down payment back. Another interesting thing is that when I do a DMV search of the VIN number, no info or history comes up at all. I've been tricked!

remember 08 vehicle come out 6moths in the previous year.
Your car can be built in 07 and paint codes can be in 07 colors for 08 till they run out of that color. plus somone could have ordered that and never picked up vehicle.

You can buy a 08 in 07 so don't go by what you think.
DMV does not get info till dealer get plates and tags for your car.

I think you're absolutely correct because I called State Farm and had them run the VIN number of my new vehicle and they pulled up all the info on it. Yes, it is a 2008 Passat! I have not received my plates and tags yet. I was really suspicious because the dealer lied about the mileage of the car!

that I could see what was the milage when you bought it?
and what did they put on your paper work?

Although it is a 2008 the papers say it had 137 miles on it but it really had over 850 miles. When they told me 137 miles I took their word for it without checking until I drove it off the lot. I love the car but I might have had second thoughts about buying it at had I knew the correct mileage from the begining.

If I had waited and look around at other cars, I probably would have checked out the 2008 Chevy Malibu first. It looked very interesting for 2008. I know it probably isn't as good in quality as my 2008 Passat, not sure but the Malibu is suppose to totally re-done.
