I Need Help!!! Please help me if you know whats wrong!!!

I have a
*1996 VW Jetta GL.
*Gas powered
*4-cyl.
*sealed trans
*automatic
*I hate this car!!! But its all have.

We think the ignition switch is going out, but this car is so different and will pretty much do what it wants...whenever it wants. But anyways, I got this car when it was always cool outside...well I started to notice that it was getting harder to crank up when it was warmer outside. And now I cant drive my car unless the sun is down pretty much. I am guessing the heat has something to do with this. If you have had this problem or know whats wrong with it, please let me know. I have to drive this car back and forth to work and so far...I just been getting rides. Thank You, April.

Well April when it does not start does it crank over but does not fire. Is that correct?

if so there is a control unit under dash up near light switch that controls the alarm and start relay for security.
it is a metal box that is shorting out. do to heat.
this is somthing that has happen lots of time just from what you have explained .
I would still have it checked out to be sure.
