hey guys im new here and i have a few questions about the 2005 jetta gli 1.8t. i currently have a 04 audi a4 1.8t quattro and i want to get rid of it because its giving me to many problems. i always wanted the gli when it came out because of the way it looks and the recaro seats. anyways my questions are.....

1. does the gli have the same 1.8t engine as the audi?

2. anyone that owns the gli have you had any problems with it?

3. how reliable are vws and the gli?

4. does the gli take fully synthetic oil?

5. cost wise are the vws and the gli cost the same in repairs as the audi?

thats about it. i basically want to know if im making a mistake gong from the audi to a vw because the repairs on the audi is expensive. thanks guys

yes the 1.8t engine is the same as is in the audi.
repair wise they should cost about the same.

cant answer your other questions as i've never owned one!

2. anyone that owns the gli have you had any problems with it? very little

3. how reliable are vws and the gli? keep up on Maintanace. Very reliable

4. does the gli take fully synthetic oil? use only good name brand sythetic oils.

5. cost wise are the vws and the gli cost the same in repairs as the audi? cost is about the same. Audi does cost more on some things.

Audi is a great car VW is A great car both are from the same faimly good luck with witch ever one you have.
