Help!! VW polo boulevard 1993/4 wont start :-(

hey there,

So here goes my first post lol,

Ive had a 1993/4 Vw polo for about a year now and (touch wood) have never had anything major wrong with it!

only problem ive had with it before was that the emissions were too high, which resulted in new leeds and spark plugs!

One day last week i went out to the polo to give it a run and it wont start! its turning over fine but will not fire up!
and it doesn't look or sound like there is any fuel getting to the engine! as if you pour a small amount of fuel in the engine it starts first turn of the key but as soon as its burnt off the fuel you put in it stalls and wont start again!!

Can anyone help please!!!!

Dont really wanna go and spend loads of money getting it repaired! as i dont have much money to spend!!
