Help turn off GTI "door ajar" light! |
|
Our recently restored '05 GTI has been a breeze to fix up and great to cruise. But we still cannot figure out how to turn off the door ajar light. We're think that it could be in the wiring to the back hatch, but aren't sure. Has anyone had any experience with this and how to fix it?

Remove your hatch inner cover panel. Check the connector for the hatch latch may be corroded. You may need three new connector leads and possibly a latch assembly to repair if this is the case.
Golfert87 probably needs a drivers door lock actuator unit? Have the codes checked to see which one. Too expensive to guess! Usually the microswitches fail!

Don't know if the problem is solve. But check the wiring on the back hatch. See if the wires are touching each other. if yes then its shorted the wire thats why the light won't turn off.
