HELP. Keyfob, windows, interior lights, sunroof, not working |
|
I have a 2001 VW Jetta 2.0. So today my Keyfob stopped locking and unlocking the doors. I replaced the batteries (right batteris, in the right way double chekced and had someone else confirm before putting it all back together). Still nothing. Then I noticed that the power windows, sunroof, seat heater, and interior lights aren't working. I check fuses find number 14 is dead and replace it (with another 10 again double checking it is the right size). Everything works again, EXCEPT the keyfob still doesn't do anything. I go in my house for a while, come back to the car, and the windows, sunroof and all that jazz from before are again not working. I check the fuse and sure enough it is blown again. Any ideas what might be up? Is the keyfob issue related to the other stuff or is it shear coincidence?

Elsewhere on the web I found this
"I had this exact problem with my 2003 jetta tdi. There is a central security module in the car, which went bad in my case. The sunroof wouldn't work, power locks would try to lock then unlock, windows wouldn't work, dome lights also. I had the module replaced for a little over $400 (used). Be careful if you get a used one like I did, because now the keyfob will not work."
BUT my fuses are NOT fine. that one fuse keeps blowing. Also I forgot to mention before that I verified all the other fuses are working properly.

Where is the CCM fuse located? I presume it's under the hood somewhere, not a standard fuse.
I have an 03 Jetta GL that this happend to just tonight. All 4 windows partly down, door locks try to work but don't, interior lights don't work. Not sure what else quit working. I just brought it home and parked it.
Thanks.
edit: OK, CCM= comfort control module. Is that located in the dash then? Also, apparently, I'll need to check fuse #14 in the morning as well.
2nd edit. Fuse 14 was indeed bad and replacement fixed the problem.
