Help 1995 Golf III GL 2.Engine Check and Oil Lights came on! |
|
It all started after we moved to our new apartment across campus. We loaded the car down pretty heavily. After the last load though the car Engine light came on and the car began to sputter and accelerate horribly.
Around noon that day we went to mcdonalds for a quick lunch after unpacking. Engine light was on and etc on our way back the oil light came on. We turned the car off checked the oil and it was enough so we jumped back in the car and drove maybe no more than 200 feet then the car wouldn't accelerate more than 2-5miles per hour no more than that. We parked and didn't know what to do. 5minutes after that it worked like it had before with the engine light on with irregular accelerations and etc.
today we decided to check if the problem resolved itself. The engine light came on and the irregular accelerations occurred. It acts like im letting off the gas slightly then tapping it now and again. In between that it acts like im slightly pressing the brake like im slowing down getting ready to come to a complete stop.
PS. Battery is basically new bought around December. Also all fluids were done in march or February... at walmart. Guess i should have known better.

sounds like throttle body is acting up you need to have the car scaned to verify the Check engine light that is what you need to do to start.

If I could throw an educated guess in here; I would start by verifying the ground connector (front of block, next to alternator) isn't corroded.
Start there, then work your way up. At least it will be one (very important) thing that will be knocked off your diagnostics list.
