Heater Control |
|
I have an 07 GTI that the heater has never worked correctly from day one. In order to get any heat, the control must be set to the 80 degree setting, turning it lower results in cold air. Has anyone else had this issue? The dealer says that this is "normal" for this model. I find that hard to beleive that setting the temp at 72, the middle of the dial would blow cool air. Other than this, I have 38K miles on it in over a year and have really have had not other issues.

I have experianced this when this car came out.
it is not normal. the dealer knows about a program flash that chenges the blend door not to be so sensitive.
this system uses blend doors tocontrol temp based of 3 snsors one outside one dash and one cabin plus the sensor that is inside the inlet of the air box.
all must be reading withen 2 to 5 deg of each other to give good info to the climatic control unit.
If you can go to a defferant dealer drive a new GTI and try it out to see if it is the same as your car.
then go back to your dealer and raise hell. and prove with one of there cars on the lot that it's not supose to do that.
thats the only thing that gets them off there butts.
