GTI on a diet.. |

i have a 03 AE and i am looking to shed it some pounds.. i want it to be lighter but still be somewhat comfortable to ride in.. i need some advise on where to start..

in all seriousness, it depends on how far you're willing to go. The pull back seat, replace the hood/fenders with carbon fiber parts, lighter wheels (unsprung weight makes even more of a difference than sprung weight reductions), pull the carpeting, trunk liners, spare tire/jack (prob not a good idea), are all places you could save weight.
The next step would be replacing panels on the car with lighter versions (and selling the "old" ones to finance such a venture).

get rid of the back seats and change the front to racing seats.
