I am building a light weight autocross car (tube frame) using and old AC Bug transaxle. I would like to do without the orginal suspension to save weight and have better adjustability for my puropse. I understand some FWD VW,s have spindle bearing carriers, uprights and stub axles that can mate with the old AC VW IRS half axles or CV flanges. These would be ideal for my purpose in that the struts can be replaced with a fabricated upright for the new suspension. But I do not know which cars to get the parts from.

It sure would be a help if someone could tell me what model and year FWD spindle bearing carriers, uprights and stub axles can be mated to the old AC VW IRS half axles or the CV flanges.

Some advice and opinions as well as any URL's that can help me will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
