Estimate of Repair costs '98 Passat |

I have cracked the oil pan and am losing the clutch on my '98 Passat v6. I live in the Concord, Ca. area. What should I expect to pay to get these fixed and any ideas of a repair shop that would do the work in my area.

The clutch is going to cost you anywhere in the area of 900-1100 depending on where you go, but that's also with the clutch disk, throwout bearing, pressure plate and everything else, where at the oil pan will run you anywhere from 500-900 (but it's easy enough for you to do yourself, couple of star bit's and 40 min worth of work if you don't mind getting dirty) that's for the oil pan and gasket with new oil filter and oil (depending on the miles higher run a FULL senthedic not Mobile 1)

Thanks Chris it is actually my stepdaughters car and she is 425 miles from me or I would do the work myself. One garage quoted us $2600 which I thought was awfully high. Since then we have found another at about $1500 which seems about right.
