Engine light problem |
|
My "Check engine light" came on and my mechanic tried to fix it 3 times. He changed the sensor and also replaced the Coolant temperature sensor, but the light is back. Anybody with the same problem? Suggestions?

Hello, MMMM I was born when calculators were hand cranked. Like a lot of older self taught mechanics , I learned the old school way. However your cars computer is the new school mechanics friend, as well as tattletale. I sujest you ask him to again hook his computer on and read the codes for you. Then if its a code 1234 go to your internet search engine and type in code 1234. You should be able to find out exactly what your code 1234 is,what triggers it, and other peoples comments. Then you wont be in the position of blindly trusting your mechanics judgement. There may be as many as 4 different reasons that trigger 1234, and further he may have guessed and got the wrong one. Hey katalin,
Wlecome to the world of VW. I had this problem and topping the coolant off just above the MAX line solved the problem. VW like to run hot so keeping the coolant just above the MAX level may help.
Good Luck!
