"Emissions Workshop" and Engine Management light |
|
I recently moved house and in the thick of things i ran the petrol down to its red light. It worked fine initially after I put petrol in but a couple days later I noticed it struggling in lower gears and juddering when just ticking over.
I have the error message "Emissions Workshop" being displayed and the engine management light flashing on my dash.
Can anyone advise me on the cheapest way of getting this fixed and let me know if the problem is linked to the fact I was running on the red light, it never actually ran out of petrol!!
It is a VW GOLF 1.6 PETROL, 2001 MK4.
Any help is much appreciated, I have left it in the car park at work!!!!!!

its nothing to do with running it into the red. its more likely that the fuel was bad quality/dirty. it may be drained and fresh nice juice but into it. did you fill up at the usual spot or not?? will need to be put on vag-nostics to, so the engine management can be sorted out.

I have a 1.9TDI Golf and just got the same message. It's booked in for a service next week. Is this something that can wait until then or do I need to get it to the garage ASAP and not drive it much?
Any help appreciated
