I got my daughter a 94 jetta 2.0 gl now when i start the car it starts but as soon as i let key go to on position the car dies with key in on position it seems like there is no power to electronics the gas gauge only goes up while the starter is engaged the car will also run as long as the starter is engaged but as soon is released it dies i suspect ignition switch any one else had this problem? thanks, craig

Craig you got bud .
if there has been a lot of heavy key chains out there that cause this problem when you get it fixed make sur you keep th key chaims to a small amount.
