hey can anybody gimme tips or advice on what the problem maybe? i want to avoid going to the dealer.. i have a 2002 jetta and the engine starts... but then begins to die... then dies. i also noticed the ECP light is on too.. the battery is only a couple months old so i doubt it could be anything to do with that. help.. anybody..

first you should go to auto zone and have them scan the codes its free, but could be maf sensor and or crank position sensor but post codes first you'll get more help.
