Does anybody know if there are any 1998 (and newer) automatic overdrive beetles out there? Or any automatic overdrive jettas of the same year? im looking to find out if volkswagen ever made them. If so i will hopefully be able to buy a used overdrive tranny from a junkyard and put it in my beetle to get better gas milage. right now it's a four speed and the lack of overdrive is killer on the highway. If there are no overdrives does anyone know of a beetle or jetta with higher gears than my car, which runs 3000rpms at 65mph?

Sorry there is no OD in VW trans.

you could find a trans with differant gearing but it will not work along with your TCM computer. Crying or Very sad
