|
I have a 2000 beetle 2.0L engine, the red water temperature light has been blinking the last day or so and now I have a code P1256 "Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor Open/Short To Positive", any idea if it is the sensor in the water tank or the one on the block, any advise how to procede.

HI. you need a coolant temp sensor. the sensor is located on the drivers side of the engine block. replace the o-ring when you replace the sensor.. good luck.
