My speedomoter goes crazy if I'm just starting off, it will bonce fom 0 to 120 and all around, has even gone past 120 and stopped straight down, it's okay while i'm driving but can start if i slow down below 30mph, it sometimes gets stuck if i'm slowing down too. can i trust that it's telling me my true speed when it is working, don't want to get done for speeding?? Also, has any one got rear brake callipers put on to a old golf that didn't have them before, is this possible? Thanks people!!

what year is your GTI this will help.

plus is it manual or Auto and what motor.

It's a 92, but a mark one I'm told due to cabriolets being behind the times, it's 1.8 manual transmission. Question

you have a bad drive gear or the speedo cable is sticking inside the housing.
