Post brakes & rims need help Reply with quote
hii all guys
I've bought recently a 2001 Jetta 1.8T
which comes with a stock 15'' alloyys 5 spoke ( 6J X 15'' ) covered with 195/65/15,
Can I put 225/55/15 on this stock rims ?
and if I want to change them to 16'' or 17'' do I've to make any mods to the car like suspention,
or I can leave it in stock setup.

About the brakes I've found that the front rotor is 288 mm x 25 mm
and mine's need to change so what other vw & audi cars share this size ? so I can order them form the net.
Cauz the VW dealer here in my country is very expensive and I've some doubts about the quality of the products too
and what about go for diff brand like buy them from Racingbrake ?
what is a good quality Pads for the stock & modified brakes ?
and if I want to go for bigger ones which 1 u recomend ? & what size do I need ? & where I can find these ?
I don't go for track days but I'm a street racer.
I've hered some ppl talk about the R32 brakes.
If u can tell me about brake upgrades with the same calipers.
and with new calipers ( and if i changed the calipers do i've to change the master too ?)

where are you from??
gti mk4 brakes are the same as are most audi cars from around that age.
the only brakes i'd up grade to are brembo. there the best the is at the moment. not sure where you will get them but your local motor factor should tell you.
the same master cylinder will do for all road use, no need to up grade unless your going out on the track!
if you go with bigger disks you need to change your calipers as well as the bigger disk's wont fit under the caliper.
think i've answered most of your questions. if i havent ask again Wink

Surprised Sh#@! thats what a complet brake job cost parts labor tax.

For 350.00 I could get you brembo rottor drill vented and akebono pads that would give you great stopping power with out up grading.
I thought USA dealer where bad.
