Black smoke, thought it was turbo |
|
Hi, I have a problem with my 99 1.9 Tdi Passat. A couple of weeks ago my wife was driving home and she heard a loud noise coming from the car, then alot of black smoke came out of the exhaust which filled the road. She stoped the car and alot of oil was drained out of the engine, nothing showing in the dipstick. Everyone thought is was the turbo, so I replaced the turbo but the problem is still there. When the engine is started black smoke comes out of the exhaust and when rev'd a loud noise comes from the car which wont switch off even with the key out and there is alot of smoke, have to keep reving until it finally stops, again all the oil is drained from the engine, don't know what the problem is, any ideas.

the black smoke it the oil burning, that's where it is going, but why is it doing this, this is all the symptoms of a blown turbo, but the turbo has been replaced and its still happening.
