Any modifcations to be made to increase gas mileage 4 Passat |
|
Is there any modifcations that can be done without spending a fortune to increase the gas mileage on a Volkswagon Passat? I own a 2001 GLX 6cyl engine model with a Tiptronic transmission
Yes I already know the...
1) The do not drive comment
2) Drive at lower speeds
3) Keep tires inflated properly
Etc..... I just want to find out what sorts of ideas or ways to increase my mileage. If there is anyone out there that knows any great ideas or suggestions I would really appreciate hearing them. Thanks so much.. Lance

funnily enough |

a turbo charger spinning idle burns fuel more efficently, increses air flow and burns 100% of fuel, no waste!! now put the foot down and it's a 25-30% increse in consumption so careful how you go!!!

Its not mechanical but you might find it helps |

Try using Acetone, it's the main ingredient in nail polish remover, you don't need much just two oz's per ten gallons.
Though it is a little different for every car, that is all you need. If your skeptical that is understandable, if you do want to try,
you canfind it at just about any hardware store.

You can try this link and if it doesn't work, sorry.

Heres another one to try, I tested them and found it better if
you copy and paste.

acetone - why not just use a fuel injector cleaner (as it actually has acetone/MEK/toluline/IPA) that do good things
