Any ideas what this noise is? |
|
So my car makes this loud fluttering noise in the hood whenever it is decelerating. Doesn't have any troubles with the steering, shifting or acceleration. The only time it isn't making a noise is when the car is idle or accelerating. Pretty much the noise only happens when the car is in motion. (I tried putting the car in neutral while moving and it still makes this noise). Oh and no check engine lights are on. And oil is all good. Any ideas what the cause of this noise is?

no because even when the car is in neutral, but in motion, it still makes this fluttering rattling frequency. the higher the speed the faster the sound. (or i should say the higher momentum i should say because being in gear doesn't change anything). performance has not been affected. it boggles my mind.

Could be oil pan shield(metal or plastic) or lower engine covers(plastic)
