A few questions if anyone could help me? |
|
First of all I would just like to point out that the 1991 1.6l mkII golf
I bought of ebay has had the service book stamped every year for
the last 16 years and the engine is imaculate and purrs like a kitten!
With that said would it be a bad idea to replace the stock carburetor
with a webber?
Im probably gonna keep it quite simple and just take all the accessories
from a gti including the interior hopefully with the big bumpers.
Does anyone know how much a respray including all the prep work
would be?
And does anyone have any recommendations on what sort of back box
to fit to it and how to do it? Or would I have to take it to a garage?
Cheers!!!

no, replacing a standard carb with a webber is always a good idea!!!
also if you found an 8v gti head you could take the cam out of it and put it into your engine, very simple power up grade.
exhaust wise the best thing to do would be a 4 four branch manifold and a gti middle section and back box.
