yes you do need those sensors, one is MFA and the other i think is air rtemp,
are you replacing it with a steel pipe??
would you be able to drill holes in it and tap them so that you can put back the sensors??

was going to just bypass the air temp sensor, indeed will use the MAF sensor as it is important. i suppose ill Drill a hole into the Plastic and or steel pipe to Reinsert the temp sensor kinda stupid but if i need it i need it. woul dit be okay to run the air sensor pipe like more than 5 inches concedering its very HOT in that spot. like adding a rubber hose to it... right now its only like an inch pluged into the hole but i think extending it to a more slightly less heat spot would make more sense....?

use a stainless pipe if you can find one. will give better airflow.
car will run better with the air temp sensor in.
no leave it where it is otherwise it will give a false temp reading to the ecu.

re: 98 jetta vr6 intake. |

so i removed the char coal canister and have moved it to another spot in the bay, so now i have plenty of room for a cai under the bumper. does the MAF need to be close to the air filter or can it stay stock while adding 2 feet of pipe.?
