2007 Passat Wagon aux in |
|
We've ordered a 2007 Passat Wagon with Nav and the 6disk in glovebox changer, but we've heard conflicting information as to whether there continues to be an aux (for Ipod/MP3) input when you get that combination. There seems to be an "AUX" key lit up on the nav. console, along with the 6 cd inputs, so that would seem to indicate that it's there (possibly routing through the cd changer)? One dealer, though, insists that the external (fitted in the glovebox cd changer) takes up the aux input in the back of the radio unit in the dash, so the aux input jack isn't functional. Can anyone confirm/deny?
thanks,

I have a 2007 Passat 2.0T Wagon and use a cable hookup in the glovebox to run my iPod to the stereo (AUX In). My car does not have a glovebox CD changer but I dont see why they would take that feature out when you are purchasing such a great package.

Yes, it works ;-) |

I should probably post a followup here.
Yes, it (AUX in for Ipod or other MP3 player) works even with the 6 disk CD changer in glove box.
I'm not sure why my dealer was assuming it wouldn't. What they assumed (or said they were told by VW) was that the dash head unit had one external input (behind the dash) and that it was used by either the CD changer or an Aux in. As opposed to what apparently is the case that if you have the CD changer, the AUX in goes into the CD changer, so it's still "CD" from the head units point of view.
