2003 VW Beetle GLS noise upon stopping |
|
I just purchased a used Beetle on friday. We are noticing a noise coming from the trunk area/trunk door when stopping. When you stop it is a clunk like something is sliding around back there. When you take off from a stop, there is an electronic sliding sound not as bad as when you stop. Any ideas what this is, or do I need to go back and have the service dept check it out? I have a warranty, but I'm hoping its something simple.

Nikki,
Your ok. It's the spoiler at the top of the rear glass area.
it happens around 45 MPH and the when you come to a stop it happens again right?
this is normal.
if you look under the dash on the drivers side under your head light switch you will see a button.
this manualy raises and lowers the spoiler.
good luck with your new car.
welcome to the VW faimly
