2003 passat radio problems....help.....

i have a 2003 passat, the radio now only picks up 1 station,you press each pre-set, it names the station which is tuned but only plays 1 am station on each and every channel.i reset it and entered the code, still the same.....any ideas ?

I own a 2003 VW Passat GLX which I purchased brand new in mid-2002. The first major issue I've had with this car was in late 2006, when my alternator went out. This caused the radio, horn, climate control, ABS module, and heated seats to go out as well. When the alternator was fixed, the radio, climate control and heated seats were still not functioning. Fladeboe Irvine VW made attempts at fixing the problems but were unsuccessful. Thousands of dollars in repairs (and lack thereof) later, I have the Bureau of Automotive Repair, Department of Consumers Affairs, and NHTSA involved. I have been conducting online research as well as live discussions with VW service employees and it seems to be an ongoing issue with many of the VW Passats. Currently, there aren't enough complaints for VW to issue a recall on the radio, ABS, and transmission problems. The only thing I can suggest is to file a complaint with VW of America, the Bureau of Automotive Repair, and the Department of Consumer Affairs.

your Antenna base is bad this happens from time to time.

there is a way to check your signal stregth but you need to know what you looking at when you put radio in service mode. have a good VW shop look at it for you.
