2003 Jetta GLI Tire Help! |
|
Hi there, I have a big problem. The girlfriend took my Jetta out of town for the weekend while I am stuck here at home (no fun). Well now she calls me to let me know she has a flat. Her and a few of her friends are trying to remove the tire but for some reason can not figure out how. I have not had the chance to try to remove the tires myself, and I am stuck here a few states away unable to help her.
Is there any special way to remove the tires or is it just standard? Does it change if I have 18-19 inch rims? Right now she has the lug nuts off and still can not remove it.
Thank you

Hello . Often the rims stick real tight, <not just on VWs> Block the car solidly, FALLING OFF YOUR JACK IS A STRONG POSSIBILITY Put a short board against the rim. Give the board a hard rap or 2 with a 5 lb hammer. It should come off.
Perhaps easier and safer for her would be a couple of cans of tire inflator. They are $8.00 in the Canadian parts stores. That should get her to a tire shop. We carry them 4x4 ing work for a time. Allan

Tell her to just go to town and look for an auto mechanic to help them out. Or ask a tow truck to bring the car to a gasoline station that might help them change tires.
