2001 Jetta Tail Light Issue |
|
<My tail lights seem to no longer work, I have replaced the bulbs and checked the fuses, what else should I be checking or that I should be aware of.

Hello, This is my sujestion, Find a nice long piece of wire, long enough to reach the back of the car and attach it to the negative post of your battery. Buy a 12 volt test light and attach it to the other ebd of the wire. Touch the probe to the positive post momentarily and the bulb should light.
Next with your key in the run position, and your headlights on, check for current at the fuse. Both sides of the fuse.
If you have power , proceed to the back and see if you have power to the bulb sockets. Its possible to have both bulbs broken, but unlikely. If you have power to both bulbs and no light, you have a grounding issue. Please let us know Allan
