2001 golf burst of blue smoke from exhaust intermittent |
|
at 65-70 mph driving I feel the engine missing (stuttering a little) and then a LARGE amount of bluish smoke comes out of rear exhaust. I'm suspecting it might be the oxygen sensor. Problem is intermittent. as when i let off the excellerator smoke quits and engine runs normal again. Did notice loss of oil in only 100 miles (at least a liter).. Any ideas?

no turbo, 4 cyl fuel injected 2.0 liter gas with 5 speed manual tranny. It runs great just today around town even at 55- 60 mph. I just changed the oil and used synthetic blend (valvoline) with a "bosch" oil filter. I inititally refilled with 4.5 liters of oil so no overfill I wouldn't imagine. It does have 131,000 miles on it.

Any suggestions on what to try would be appreciated.
