2000 New Beetle Turbo won't stay running |
|
I purchased a 200 New Beetle Turbo for my 16 yr old three months ago. It has been in the shop for two of those three months and still not fixed. The car dies when stopping or in idle. She cannot drive the car more than 2 / 10 of a mile and it dies. It will start right back up but dies after a few minutes again. Several sensors have been replaced like the mass air sensor, the crank sensor and even some wiring and several hundreds of dollars have been spent. I am at a loss. No codes are showing up when the dealer checks it. Took it to the shop again this week and now the repair shop is telling me it is the ignition switch. I think we bought Hurby the Bug from Hell.

most volkswagons when the battery is disconnected, or codes cleared they have to go threw a idle relearn procedure. you have to have the volkswagon factory or equivilent software to perform. the dealer should be able to do it for an hours labor or so.
