1999 beetle wont run boohoo. |
|
after 3 months in the garage without being started, I had to change the battery on my 1999 vw beetle. When starting, the vehicle will only start after 5 to 10 attempts. When it does start, it continuously revs from 800 to 1500 rpm's. It continues to do this gradually increasing the high end to 3000 rpm's, at which time it finally stalls. I checked and it has fuel going all the way to the pressure regulator. The air cleaner is brand new. And there are no vacume leaks that i can find. I am at whits end with this thing. If anybody has any ideas please give me an idea. Thank you ...

have you done some tune-ups lately? Did you check the fuel pressure? Can you hear the pump running? check also the ignition module, spark plugs and starter also check for some loose connection or poor grounding.. i would recomend that you check all the vw beetle parts so as to see what might be causing the problem.. keep us informed of what other things did you notice.. good luck
